What to Expect

Finding us: from Monteverde, follow the main road (La Trocha) down into the San Luis Valley. Turn left directly after the Minisuper El Alto. You pass by the University of Georgia Costa Rica campus. Keep going until you see the sign for Finca Ecologica. The road is bumpy but well worth your effort!

Hiking: If you plan to hike, please wear sturdy shoes and remember to bring a water bottle! Sunscreen and bug spray are also recommended.

Swimming: We offer a uniquely beautiful place to swim in Rio San Luis. If you would like to swim, remember to bring your own towel and swim suit. Please keep in mind, this is not a swimming pool like at a resort, but a river swimming experience, so "common sense" and caution are required!

Bird Watching: Our land is home to an incredible diversity of birds. We encourage you to bring your binoculars and camera to see and capture the magic. For those booking a guided bird watching tour, your guide will have a scope to share.

Camping: We offer a basic "no frills" camping experience on our land. This is a great way to connect with nature and be ready to see many birds right at day-break. However - please come prepared with everything you will need to camp! Camping must be scheduled in advance.

Food & Drink: Finca Ecologica is home to Zelmi's Pizza. Gourmet pizza & refreshments are available for lunch. Comida tipica & other meals must be scheduled in advance. Come enjoy the best pizza in the San Luis Valley!
